The time is a tumultuous one for Wales, where threat comes from Normans, the betrayal of the Welsh themselves and the ambitions of Kings in England, Ireland, Norway, Normandy and beyond. As the Normans push into Wales trying to impose their laws, culture & religion beliefs, Angharad ferch Owen struggles to find her place in a changing world. When a flaxen-haired stranger tries to convince her father to join his war against the Norman invasion, her loyalties are torn.

This is the story of the passage of an 11th Century girl into womanhood and motherhood with all the uncertainties which women feel today, but on a stage where the world in in confusion and cultural, technological and legislative change add complexity to that transition.
