Who is the Welsh Warrior?

The sequel to ‘’The Welsh Traitor’s Daughter’’ will be released very soon by Historium Press. The book’s title is ‘’The Welsh Warrior’s Inheritance’’ but who is the Welsh Warrior and what is his inheritance?

‘The Welsh Warrior’s Inheritance” is a historical fiction based in Wales which continues the true story of Gruffydd ap Cynan and his lovely wife Angharad. Is Gruffydd the Welsh warrior the title refers to? Gruffydd was a prominent Welsh king and ruler of Gwynydd at the end of the eleventh and beginning of the twelfth centuries. He regained Gwynydd from the hands of the Normans and his leadership and military campaigns helped consolidate Welsh resistance to foreign rule. At the beginning of the sequel, Gruffydd has eight children, a prosperous kingdom, and wonderful alliances with other powers within Wales and beyond.

Another Welsh warrior reappears in the sequel to “The Welsh Traitor’s Daughter”: Owain ap Cadwgan has matured although he is still headstrong and unpredictable. He leads guerilla warfare against the Normans and Flemings and young men from all over Wales stream to his cause. History tells us that Owain led numerous campaigns to defend and expand his territories but his life was marked by political intrigues and shifting alliances. Could he be the Welsh warrior referred to in the book’s title?

At the beginning of the book another character, Griffith ap Rhys, is waiting in Ireland to return to Wales to recover his father’s lands in Deheubarth in the southern part of Wales. His father, Rhys ap Tewdwr, King of Dehuebarth, was murdered by the Normans, his sister Nest was brought up in the English court and taken to be King Henry’s mistress and charismatic Griffith seeks revenge. Is Griffith the Welsh warrior?

‘’The Welsh Warrior’s Inheritance’’ introduces many other new characters as well as some old favourites such as faithful and loyal, Hywel as well as some villains such as Angharad’s ambitious, scheming brother, Gronwy and the vicious, barbaric Madog ap Rhyrid. They too are all notable warriors
